This month, the ISLE team was beyond excited to be a part of an amazing surf therapy event with “
A Walk on Water,” dedicated to children with special needs or disability. AWOW’s mission is simple; to help those in need experience the calming and therapeutic effects of the ocean. The organization works closely with local communities, businesses, volunteers and watermen to run Surf Therapy events across the country.
We were lucky to be able to volunteer at the Cardiff event and join the expertly trained surf therapists for a successful day of fun, smiles, family, friends and stoke.
Here’s what went down:
The ISLE team met up with the AWOW crew on Saturday morning, lots of energy and great vibes going around.
ISLE donated boards for the athletes to use during the event and they were a hit! The team then hopped in the water to spend the day as beach safety volunteers and surf therapists.
Scott Eastwood and Chef Adam Glick both attended the event to volunteer as surf therapists.
We enjoyed an incredible day out in the water with the athletes and their families. ISLE is proud and excited to be a part of this amazing cause, and we encourage everyone who can to get out and join this powerful experience!
